    Position overview:

    Reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer, and partnering closely with the Executive Team, the VP Manufacturing will have a major leadership role within the Company. The primary responsibilities include management of the process development and product manufacturing functions. This role will interface extensively with the development, quality, regulatory and project management functions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading a successful IVD manufacturing function. The candidate will leverage our in-house talent and capabilities while gaining broader expertise through technology and partnerships.

     

    Key Roles & Responsibilities
    • Supports the Mission, Vision and Shared Values of QuantuMDx.
    • Drives the manufacturing operation to achieve manufacturing capabilities that meet or exceed requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness.
    • Plans, develops, organises, implements, directs, and evaluates the Company’s manufacturing operations functions and performance in the areas including materials usage, shipping and receiving, capacity planning, production scheduling, and safety.
    • Work closely with the CSO, System Integration Manager and VP R&D to efficiently and effectively translate the low volume R&D manufacture to high volume manufacture in-line with company projections.
    • Perform manufacture scenario planning with the senior team to feed into corporate planning.
    • Work with the VP R&D to guide development with a design for manufacture.
    • Set up manufacturing lines for both Q-POC and its disposable and Capture-XT and its disposable.
    • Develop plans for both HIC and importantly LMIC disposable manufacture.
    • Investigate in-country disposable manufacture in India, China, South Africa and Brazil.
    • Support the CSO in developing and presenting novel manufacturing business models to NGOs & LMIC governments.
    • Work with the commercial team to optimise the manufacture and packaging of DNA-XT.
    • Works with cross-functional leaders to support overall manufacturing operations, coordinate general communications for the function.
    • Develops a world-class integration process to implement QuantuMDx’s philosophies and processes.
    • Participates in the development of the Company’s plans and programs as a strategic partner, particularly from an operations perspective. Recommends and implements strategic changes in manufacturing and operations strategy.
    • Accountable for product cost drivers, cost of goods targets, overall cost of ownership, risk management, compliance and ongoing cost improvement for all products.
    • Ensure appropriate resources are available and positioned to meet QMDx’s continued requirements for growth. Establish quantitative metrics consistent with the company’s business objectives for leadership in product cost, quality and delivery.
    • Cultivate and maintain external relationships with third party suppliers and partners, key customers and professional organisations; develop strategies to monitor and identify future market trends.
    • Continually assesses and improves the competitiveness of all policies and practices against relevant comparable companies and industries.
    • Ensures compliance with ISO 13485 and other relevant regulatory standards.

    • Strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, and good judgment
    • Significant biologics development experience and developing processes for commercial scale productions.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
    • Experienced leader with 10-15 years of progressive manufacturing operations experience.
    • Medical device industry required.
    • Experience acquiring and/or integrating manufacturing operations
    • Significant biologics development experience and developing processes for commercial scale productions.
    • Strong inventory planning and management skills required.
    • Experience with evaluation and management of global multi-product strategies and processes; history of delivery on strategies that mitigate risk, manage and reduce cost, ensure and improve product availability and reliability over the life cycle of the product.
    • Experience leading effectively within matrixed and cross functional environments; driving decisions regarding overall manufacturing and supply chain priorities, allocation of human resources and finances, value of proposed projects, and effectiveness of manufacturing and supply chain performance.
    • Education, experience and documented results in leadership and project management.
    • Experience in problem solving, negotiations, presentation and collaborative team-building with non-direct reports across multiple geographies and cultures and, external parties required.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or in a related science or manufacturing area.
    • Ability to work full time in the UK without restriction.
